getting your hands dirty VS the binary salad

interesting look at typography and lettersetting...

a glimpse into my daily online routine...

I, for one, hate doing the same things over and over again... but for some reason, which i ignore, it seems that i've been returning to the same sites for a while now for my daily dose of news, music, funny shit and other cultural enlightments.

so here we go:

- ROCKETBOOM > daily video blog based in NYC covering all types of fierce subjects, from sociological, cultural and environmental standpoints.

- THE SHOW with ZE FRANK > zany character doing the thinking so we don't have to. SO BRILLIANT yet SO FUNNY!

- PITCHFORK MEDIA > online music news resource, album reviews, etc. to consult if you're looking for little musical gems.

- DRUDGE REPORT > great "left field" international news resource (they're the ones who broke out the lewinski story couple of years back)

- STILLEPOST.CA > sometimes funny, sometimes informative but always addictive... reading 16 year-olds try to own each other all day long is quite funny...

thats it for now...

BBC >> Tetris - From Russia With Love

A hard to find documentary about Tetris and its creator Alexey Pajitnov. Also covers the rivalaries between Nintendo and Atari and the ... all » absurdities of buying copyrights for software from a country that doesn't believe in property, much less intellectual property. Ultimately, a great documentary about a very important game.

How To Make Anything Look Like a Toy?

Artist Olivo Barbieri

To create this effect, Barbieri uses a tilt-frame camera to shift the plane of focus so that it is out of alignment with the film. Normally, this allows wide-angle aerial views to be captured in proper perspective. But used incorrectly, an optical illusion occurs.

Rube Goldberg Machine

When i was younger i was fascinated (still are) by the famous game Mouse Trap. As the time passed by my interest grew and complexified. The Rube Goldberg Machines (their "technical" name) that i now love are more and more intricate. here's some fine examples.
